What are the stages of phyto-purification?
The water undergoes a pretreatment by passing through a straw filter, a vertical bed planted with reeds or an all-water tank, in order to remove the largest particles and part of the fats. This also prevents clogging of the distribution pipes. Then it passes through several horizontal flow filter basins, planted with plant species capable of absorbing polluting loads (bamboo, mallets, marsh iris, sedge ...). Finally the treatment is refined thanks to a terminal pond (or a ditch planted with semi-aquatic species) which promotes the increase of biodiversity and quickly becomes a strong point of the garden.
